  • U.S. Newborn Documentation Services for Singaporean Families

For babies born in the United States, the baby automatically acquires U.S. citizenship.

Singaporean parents will need to complete both U.S. documentation and Singapore documentation in order for the baby to travel internationally and return to Singapore smoothly.

  • How It Works

    1

    Obtain the U.S. Birth Certificate

The baby must first receive the official U.S. birth certificate, which serves as proof of U.S. citizenship.

    2

    Apply for a U.S. Passport

    Prepare and submit the following:

    • U.S. birth certificate
    • Form DS-11
    • Passport photo
    • Parents’ valid IDs

👉 Both parents’ consent is required for minors under 16.

    3

Apply for a Consular Letter / Singapore Registration

Parents will need to report the birth to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority or Singapore overseas mission.

This step is required to establish the baby’s status under Singapore law.

    4

Apply for a Consular Letter / Singapore Registration

Parents will need to report the birth to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority or Singapore overseas mission.

This step is required to establish the baby’s status under Singapore law.
