Newborn Documents for Korean Families
We provide comprehensive newborn documentation services for Korean families with babies born in the United States, including birth certificate coordination, Korean birth registration, and Korean passport application support—ensuring a smooth and efficient process from birth to international travel.
How It Works
1Obtain the U.S. Birth Certificate
Before anything else, you must receive the baby’s official U.S. birth certificate.
2Prepare Required Documents
Prepare the following documents:
- U.S. birth certificate
- Korean translation of the birth certificate
- Parents’ passports
- Marriage certificate (if applicable)
- Additional forms required by the Korean consulate
3Schedule an Appointment with the Korean Consulate
Contact your local Korean consulate to book an appointment for birth registration.
👉 A parent can usually attend alone (the baby does not need to be present).
4Submit Birth Registration
At the appointment, submit all documents to register the baby in Korea’s family registry system.
⏱ Processing time: about 2–3 weeks
5Apply for an U.S. Passport
At the appointment, submit all required documents for the baby’s U.S. passport application.
🕒 Processing time:
- Routine: a few weeks
- Expedited (Passport Agency): same-day or next-day service may be available
